Gemma Goday was born in Madrid where she started her modern flute studies, obtaining a final studies prize. She obtained the flute Bachelor degree in the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Zaragoza with the teachers Fernando Gómez and Antonio Nuez. Afterwards she moved to The Hague and studied in The Royal Conservatoire with the flute player Kersten McCall. Interested in historical performance practice, she followed the Traverso Bachelor Degree in Kate Clark’s class in the same conservatory. Finally, she went to Barcelona to study a Master in Early Music in the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) with Marc Hantaï. She has participated in projects leaded by musicians as Richard Egarr, Lorenzo Coppola or Pablo Valleti among others. She is a founding member of the classical orchestra El Teatre Instrumental, which looks for an active communication with audience, and plays in Ses Poemes, chamber music group specialized in XVIth and XVIIth century music. Furthermore, she teaches flute in the music conservatory Mestre Vert in Carcaixent (Valencia).
